Special Collection Reflection

The text that me and my partner had was a written document in French. As we analyzed the document we realized it was a parchment scroll circa 1300. This was a time when paper and handwriting was very prominent. This relates back to when we were talking about the different uses of parchment. Some of the uses were for correspondents, official records, books, and other entertainment options. Within the document that we were observing, we discovered that it had an illumination in the signature. To me that signified that the individual who wrote decided to put a little artistic freedom on the document. In addition, the document contained a huge whole in the middle of it, which relates back to the concept that parchment can be easily ruined when in the process of being made. The handwriting on the document was very neat and I was actually surprised when looking at it because I would have never thought that it would be that neat during this time in history. In reality since this was the...

All my  pictures except the last one was taking under the bridge where the Tallahassee Democrat building is located. The last picture was taken behind the tattoo shop Atlas on Mahan. 1.) It seems like it is someone's name and its is very detailed. 2.) Looks like some type of symbol the represent something to the artist. 3.) Looks like someone was tagging and marked their territory by putting his/her name. 4.) This piece looks like someone was representing their hood and let others know that they were there. 5.) This piece looks like it is the same person from picture three and he/she continue to mark his territory by putting his/her name but in a different design. 6.) someone writing their name in bubble letters. 7.) Someone named "Folir" tagging this pole. 8.) Same person and 5/3 9.) I do not know what is going on in this picture but it looked really cool. 10.) This is someone's name that starts with a z once again tagging this area.

Memorial Proposal

I feel as though there should be a memorial for the pivotal figures who helped paved away for African American within the United States. Figures such as Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth to show our admiration for the contribution to our people and culture. I would want my Memorial to tell a story about their life and the struggles they went through. Within the memorial, I want it to have pictures and antidotes about the significant contributions that were made in the figure life. I want it to be an outside and inside memorial. The outside will have the different statues of the figures being recognized, while the inside of the memorial will have the timeline of each figure included the good and the bad so that the visitors can get a deeper compassion about each figure. The memorial will be placed in Washington D.C. because it deserves the same significance as the white house and the Lincoln memorial. It will not be placed directly by the white house but in vicin...

Artifact Description

Textbook The words in the book are all talking about the ways to teach diverse populations. There are pictures of graphs, people, classrooms and people protesting about unfair situations within the educational system. For the most part the textbook is pretty clean and all the pages are in the book. It is a small textbook with a blue, white and yellow cover, it is inside a black binder it smells like a newly brought book, and it feels like the book is brand new with the pages being crisps. I can either hold it up, hold it in my hands, or either prop it up all depends on how I'm feeling when reading it.  The textbook has chapters, with subsections and captions to help get a better understanding of the material. The technologies is a computer used to type the book up, a printer with black ink to print out the pages and a distributer to get to the textbooks to their designated locations for students to buy them.
